Character Interview--Voodoo Butterfly Blog Tour

What is your name and do you have a nickname?

My mother had always insisted on calling me Sophia because she thought it was a beautiful, old-fashioned name. It means “wisdom,” she’d tell me. But at school, kids started calling me Sophie and the name just kind of stuck.

Where were you born? Where have you lived since then? Where do you currently call home?

I had never really ventured outside of my hometown of Saint Louis. That is until I inherited a New Orleans voodoo shop unexpectedly. And I say "unexpectedly" because I didn't know one single thing about voodoo. Or my family's secret power.

What is your biggest fear? Fact: I'm twenty-five years old and afraid of the dark. Fact: I need to get a grip and grow up. LOL. I don't know...Ever since I was little, I just can't seem to overcome this fear. My grandma says fear of the dark is one of the major obstacles blocking my spells. Since moving to New Orleans, I've learned that the women in my family are Mind Changers, specialized voodoo priestesses who have the ability to change evil people good. But I'm struggling to access my power.

What or who is the greatest love of your life?

You'll have to read my story to find that out. But I will tell you this: I don't trust people easily, so it's a big deal for me to fall in love.

What would you do to save someone you love?

This specific conundrum comes up in my book, so I can't spoil it. Let me just say that I would go to the ends of this world--and into the next--in order to save those that I love.
